1. Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Subjectly Inc. ("Subjectly", "we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the Subjectly mobile application. By using Subjectly, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. What data we collect
We collect only the information necessary to provide and improve the Subjectly service:
- Account information — email address and optional display name when you create an account.
- Usage data — the interests and subjects you select, lessons generated, quiz scores, and streak data. This is stored locally on your device and, where applicable, in your Subjectly account.
- Images you scan — photos you capture or upload are sent to our AI service to generate lesson content. We do not store these images after processing.
- Device data — basic device and OS information for app performance and crash reporting.
- Payment data — if you purchase credits or a subscription, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details.
3. How we use your data
- To provide and improve the Subjectly service.
- To personalise AI-generated content to your interests and subjects.
- To maintain your account, streak, and learning history.
- To process payments and manage credits.
- To send important service communications (not marketing, unless you opt in).
4. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Anthropic — your scanned content and interests are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate lessons, quizzes, and podcasts. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this data.
- Supabase — we use Supabase for authentication and account storage.
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
- Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law.
5. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can:
- Edit your profile information within the app (Settings → Edit Profile).
- Delete your account and all associated data (Settings → Delete Account).
- Request a copy of your data by emailing subjectlyappsupport@gmail.com.
6. Children's privacy
Subjectly is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

- You may not use Subjectly for any illegal, harmful, or abusive purpose.
- You may not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse our AI services.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
10. AI-generated content & disclaimer
Subjectly uses large language models (including Anthropic Claude) to generate lessons, quizzes, and podcast scripts. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. You acknowledge and agree that:
- All content generated by Subjectly is for general informational and educational purposes only.

12. Credits, subscriptions & refund policy
Subjectly uses a credit system for AI features. Credits are consumed per scan, lesson, quiz, and podcast generation. By purchasing credits or a subscription you agree to the following refund policy:
- All sales are final. Purchased credits and subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.
- No cash refunds. Subjectly does not issue refunds in cash, check, bank transfer, or any monetary form. In the event a refund is warranted at Subjectly's sole discretion, it will be issued exclusively as in-app credits.
- Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time through your account settings or the Stripe Customer Portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you will retain access until that date.
- Unused credits do not expire but hold no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money or transferred to another account.
- If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us at subjectlyappsupport@gmail.com within 30 days of the charge.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Subjectly Inc., its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages of any kind — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, loss of profits, or damages arising from reliance on AI-generated content — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Subjectly application.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Subjectly service shall not exceed the total amount you paid to Subjectly in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
14. Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms of Service and any disputes arising out of or related to them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You agree that any legal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
